As titular organist of the Gesu church from 1957 to the present time; as professor of music theory in 1969 at the Conservatoire
de Musique de la Province de Québec : three years in Chicoutimi then, at the Conservatoire de Montréal, until my retirement
in 1994; my husband - Conrad Letendre – had an immeasurable influence on my career. Ample reason to present this testimony.
He was my master, my beacon, my life companion. Conrad Letendre died 25 years ago; but, for me, he is still alive and his
wise words are constantly with me. In such a way that he is still my guide : he has influenced my choices in life ever since
the very first moment that I met him (at the age of eighteen).
I immediately understood the scope of this exceptional person, unbelievably generous, ultra intelligent, very original,
straight as an arrow, fiercely attached to his principles. Incurable and tireless researcher, he was also a great teacher.
His works on Harmony and Counterpoint are the fruit of long years of research. He had the courge to break away from traditional
concepts because, in the long run, he knew that it was inevitable.
Today, 25 years after his death, his works will be available thanks to Jean Chatillon, his beloved disciple, to whom I offer
my deepest gratitude.
